Get to Know Me

Hi!! My name is Lana LaBon. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Health Care Management. I worked in the Health Care field for over 8 years-- until I got on the other side of the field. What I mean by that is I became the “patient”. Since then my life has taken many turns. From being a stage 4 cancer survivor, dealing with an array of mental health illnesses, losing loved ones, trauma, broken engagements. Yes, you read right engagementS and everything in between. I am a true introvert at heart so for me to share my story with you is definitely hard. Not too long ago, I remember waking up in the wee hours of the morning crying and asking God what did he want from me? What was my purpose? Now, they say God has a sense of humor and I believe this to be true. Since I am a such a private person and I considered everything that I have been through thus far “my business” the answer that I received could not have been right. To tell my story!! To whom and more importantly why would anyone care? In a world where it is so easy to get caught up in our own heads we believe that the trials that we face are for us to deal with alone. I have learned it is never completely about us.  Yes, some situations we learn from and others experiences may invoke growth. However, the main reason I feel we go through various trials is for us to share with one another and to encourage one another. I am not an expert in any of these areas, nor can I give you the answers. What I can do is open a community where we can help one another heal as we talk through while we walk through! It's during these troubled times FAITH will be the very thing that carries us through. This is what has inspired me to write this blog. To share my stories with you because it is not only my duty but my PURPOSE.
